Tucker Kraft's Comeback: Packers TE Ready for 2026 After ACL Injury! (2026)

Imagine this: A rising star, poised to redefine his position, suddenly sidelined. That's the reality for Packers tight end Tucker Kraft, who, despite a devastating injury, is already setting his sights on a triumphant return in 2026.

Kraft, speaking candidly in the locker room, didn't mince words about the personal sting of missing out on the 2024 season due to a torn ACL suffered in November. He was on track to achieve something truly special.

"I was on the cusp of putting together one of the greatest seasons by a Packer tight end," Kraft admitted. "That was something I was looking forward to, just leaving my legacy on this game and playing as hard as I could every snap for this team, because the end of the day, the guys in this room, they mean so much to me."

Before the injury, Kraft was a force to be reckoned with. In the first eight games, he snagged 32 passes for 489 yards and six touchdowns, leading the team in every major receiving category. Had he maintained that pace, he would have shattered franchise records, potentially finishing with 64 catches for 978 yards and 12 touchdowns, surpassing the marks set by Jermichael Finley and Paul Coffman.

But here's where it gets controversial... Kraft's recovery is progressing well, with no complications despite minor meniscus and LCL damage. He's aiming to be "bulletproof" by Week 1 of the 2026 season, approximately 10 months post-surgery. He anticipates starting training camp on the physically unable to perform list (PUP), a familiar path after recovering from a pectoral muscle injury.

What's truly exciting is the glimpse of Kraft's potential we saw before the injury. His final full game against Pittsburgh was a career highlight: seven catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns. It was his second 100-yard game of the season, showcasing his growth and dominance. He was becoming a more significant part of the offense.

Kraft's determination is unwavering. He's hungry for every opportunity, aiming for as many snaps as possible. He sees himself as a complete tight end, ready to contribute in any way he can.

"I wasn't feeling that stress or anxiety, mainly just excitement," he said of his 2025 season. "I was hungry for every snap, every opportunity I could get. That's going to be the same thing going forward. I don't know entirely what my future holds in this offense, but … as many snaps as I can get, whether that's 40 or 65. I don't ever want to come out of this game again."

His absence was felt, particularly as the offense adjusted after the injury. Kraft, a fierce competitor, found it challenging to watch the team's struggles and the season's end. He's now focused on his recovery and returning as a better player.

"When I wasn't able to be out there for the last month and a half, two months this season, it was really hard on me … just knowing that, if I would have been out there and contributing, maybe things would have gone different," he said. "But the end of the day, my injury is my reality, and all I can do is work and come back to be a better Packer than I was before."

And this is the part most people miss... Kraft's injury, while unfortunate, is viewed as a catalyst for growth. He believes it will make him a better athlete, teammate, and person. He is determined to make a significant impact upon his return.
